Our Commitment to Fiscal Responsibility 

The federal First Nations Financial Transparency Act requires 581 First Nations in Canada, defined as an Indian band under the Indian Act, to make their audited consolidated financial statements and a Schedule of Remuneration and Expenses of chief and council available to their members as well as publish it on a website. 

 

In compliance with the Act, INAC is also required to publish these documents on the department’s website. View the financial data on the Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada website.
